Since 2006, Engineer Fabian Baumann and Designer Sönke Hoof work together from their Berlin-based design studio Formfjord.

Today they design and develop products in cooperation with renowned german and international companies.
In addition to furniture, lighting and accessories, they enjoy working in various fields: “Each project holds inspiration for another. The more different the jobs, the more fruitful and unexpected the synergies are.”
Their analytical approach on things and their ability to extract the significant are of major importance for their work.
The direct teaming of designer and engineer lends Formfjord‘s designs their unique structural language.

Fabian Baumann (*1977) studied mechanical engineering at TU-Berlin and product-design at TU-Delft.
Sönke Hoof (*1972) studied product-design at Kunsthochschule Berlin after an apprenticeship as interieur decorator.
